Schechter/Wallfisch unites multi-instrumentalists and longtime collaborators Dana Schechter (Swans, Insect Ark, Angels of Light) and Paul Wallfisch (Swans, Botanica, Little Annie, Firewater, and Musical Director/Curator at the Vienna Volkstheater).

Operating between Berlin's avant-garde and New York underground scenes, Schechter and Wallfisch offer listeners tastes of electro-acoustic improvisation, Weimar cabaret, post-punk and doom metal.
The project began when the duo met in Vienna to create the live theatrical score for playwright Wolfram Lotz’s production Die Politiker, directed by Kay Voges at the Wiener Volkstheater. The result: The Heart of a Whale (Trost Records, May 23, 2025), an album offering six volatile, delicate, raucous, meditative, and terrifying songs.
